The Ngāti Paoā Iwi Trust (NPIT) is established to receive, manage, administer and apply the Trust’s assets derived from the Ngāti Paoa Deed of Settlement with the Crown on behalf of and for the benefit of the present and future members of Ngāti Paoa in accordance with its Trust Deed. Descendants of Ngāti Paoa are invited to apply to register as a member.
It is important to register all whanau members, including every dependent child.
A separate application Form must be completed for each person.
Parents can register their children however persons 18yrs or older must complete and sign their own Form.
Registration will enable you to participate in key strategic matters.
A Whakapapa/Validation Committee has been established and this committee shall be responsible for validating the applicant’s whakapapa to Ngāti Paoa.
To register you must:
be a descendant of Paoa by birth;
or by Whāngai
affiliate to one of the Hapū listed in clause 10.5 of the Ngāti Paoa Deed of Settlement.

To be notified of important issues, events and decisions affecting Ngāti Paoa
To obtain eligibility to vote in Ngāti Paoa elections (for those over the age of 18)
To obtain benefits entitled to members of Ngāti Paoa

Please fill out as much information as you can as incomplete forms may delay processing.
Pursuant the privacy Act 1993 the information held on this form may be included in the Register, and may be used at the discretion of Ngāti Paoa Iwi Trust or any successor to Ngāti Paoa lwi Trust. Such purpose include identification of Ngāti Paoa, and/or Ngāti Paoa Roopu itself: also to derive any entitlement as members of hapu of Ngāti Paoa, and/or itself in the future.
