Just 2 days to go until the 175th commemoration of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi at Karaka Bay this Sunday 1st March!
For those who want to catch the boat/barge to Karaka Bay, meet at St Heliers Boat Ramp to leave at 2pm. Someone will be there to meet you.
Just 2 days to go until the 175th commemoration of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi at Karaka Bay this Sunday 1st March!
For those who want to catch the boat/barge to Karaka Bay, meet at St Heliers Boat Ramp to leave at 2pm. Someone will be there to meet you.
You can also go directly to Karaka Bay if you don't want to catch the barge (Karaka Bay is accessed via footpath at the end of Peacock Rd). Assemble on the beach from 2.30 pm, as the commemoration will start at 3pm with the arrival of Kotuiti Tuarua into the bay.
We encourage you to wear Kakahu Maori of the 1840s era.
