REMINDER; Matariki Dawn Karakia Ceremony, June 10th In 2016, Ngaati Paoa had the privilege of hosting the Matariki Festival in partnership with Auckland Council. This year the hosting is with our whanaunga from Ngaati Manuhiri - the highlight being the Dawn Karakia Ceremony at Taawharanui on Saturday June 10th. Last year Ngaati Paoa had the honour of hosting the inaugural Matariki celebrations in partnership with Auckland Council. It was a great opportunity to share our stories and a way to raise the profile of mana whenua within the Taamaki area. This year it is the role of our whanaunga, Ngaati Manuhiri, to host the 2017 event. For Ngaati Paoa, our role is to be involved in the hand over of Matariki to this year's hosts, and there are two key dates as part of that hand over. Tena Koutou ngā uri a Paoa
Ngāti Paoa Iwi Trust is hiring for a part time position (approximately four hours per week) as a 'Projects oversight and community engagement manager' to work alongside SEED New Zealand to advance the Ngāti Paoa iwi projects. The core functions of the role includes:

A Special General Meeting of adult registered members of Ngāti Paoa Iwi Trust (“NPIT”) will be held Saturday 29 April 2017, 10am at Waiti Marae, Tahuna Road, RD4 Ohinewai, Tahuna New Zealand, to vote in person on the following special resolution. The proposed special resolution is that the following amendment to NPIT trust deed be approved: ‘That the NPIT Board appoint five additional initial trustees to increase its membership from it’s current two initial trustees to a full compliment of seven initial trustees.’ The Special Resolution is required pursuant to clause 25.1 of the NPIT Trust Deed. Passing the resolution will allow the NPIT board to increase from two initial trustees to a full compliment of seven initial trustees. Also to be presented at the meeting will be the audited accounts of the NPIT Group. Voting will be in person at the meeting by adult registered members of the Ngāti Paoa Iwi Trust. There will be no postal voting or voting by electronic means.
