Kia or a ehoa.

Knowing that this appeal was to commence in advance of the signing of the DoS. Why, and what was the thinking about the need to sign the DoS when this case was due and the significance of the outcome that has a major impact on the Hauraki Settlement, the Marutuahu Settlement and the Ngati Paoa Settlement. Which are all currently being reviewed by the Crown and ministers concerned right now.

The DoS that was ratified in 2020 and the current DoS have been altered by the Crown and the iwi hasn't ratified it.
Did the NPiT agree to this and also decided not to ratify it by putting it to a vote?

What was revealed in the throughout the court hearing has a substantial impact on Ngati Paoa and this should be another 'signal' to all that this settlement offer is a dog and it should be rejected out-right.

Also the decision for this appeal case isn't due until late this year but as the presiding judge said,"it's more likely next year sometime".

What needs to be considered here is that as the changes or adjustments that will need to be made to all these settlements will be based on the outcome and decision of this appeal.

More thought needs to be put into this because as it is, it's another train wreck about to happen again.

Odds are, are that on the decision made, either way, it will most likely be appealed by the party that loses this round.
