Kei ngā hoa o Te Panekiretanga o te ao Māori whānui tukuna atu tēnei pānui ki ngā tāngata o Pare Hauraki.

2017

He wānanga reo, wānanga tikanga, wānanga hītori, wānanga kupu, wānanga waiata, wānanga whakaaro, hei painga mō Pare Hauraki.

In conjunction with TWOA, Te Whare Tāhuhu Kōrero o Hauraki are offering Māori language block courses once a month Friday evening to midday Sunday. ​
​All wānanga will be held on Hauraki marae during the last weekend of every month 2017 dates to be confirmed. Whaikōrero and Karanga classes will also be integrated into the wānanga. 

Courses that will be offered:

Te Pīnakitanga ki Hauraki (Level 7) however tauira who have completed this course are able to return to learn our Hauraki dialect. 

This advanced total immersion Māori language programme will help further develop your skills in te reo Māori and apply tikanga Māori across a wide range of contexts. All content, dialect, proverbs and philosophies are based on the revitalization for the benefit of the Hauraki people.


Te Aupikitanga ki Hauraki (Level 6)

This course is for intermediate-level skills in te reo Māori and tikanga Māori. This total immersion programme will help you consolidate your knowledge. It will also help you build comprehensive structures that will give you the confidence to use te reo Māori in a wide range of contexts. There is special emphasis on Hauraki content.

Te Pūtaketanga ki Hauraki (Level 5)

This programme focuses on developing written and verbal language skills, but has a special emphasis on kōrero (speaking the language). There is a basic emphasis on Hauraki content. You must have a basic level of conversational Māori as most of the course is conducted in the Māori language.

Criteria for entry

·           You must be committed to all monthly weekend wānanga.
·           You must produce a copy of your Birth Certificate or New Zealand Passport.
·           Interviews will be conducted for all new students to our wānanga programme.  
·           Special admission status prior will be given to Hauraki descendants however places are also available for students not of Hauraki descent who are passionate and are wanting to enhance their competency of te reo Māori and tikanga.
