Apologies for the lateness in this follow up letter in regards to the Piritahi Whare Whakairo Tuwhera we just wanted to collect as much information/confirmation as possible.
The format follows the whakapapa whakatakoto i te whenua and karakia will take place at the marae entrance.
Gathering from 5.30-6am start
Pare a Hauraki Tohunga (Rawiri Te Toka)in conjunction with Ngati Paoa (Hauauru Rawiri) followed by Nga Puhi (Te Ra) then Te Arawa with Tainui/Paimarire to close.
The Wahine crossing the threshold are 3 fold. All have whakapapa to the Hauraki and are marae Whanau.
Our kuikui are to be followed by the nannies who will be with their moko from the Piritahi kohanga.
As the back wall will carry our whakaahua(They have not left the whare during the process of the dressing),of those gone before the kuikui will be the first faces to greet them and will then be followed the next tier of nannies who will be taking the future tier of moko with them.
The Whare 'Kia Piritahi' is dedicated to Io with a Koruru representing Tanewhakapiripiri. The front of the Whare is in Pare Hauraki ahua.
The internal as you enter are 12 Rangatira/Kaihautu on the left and reciprocal Tohunga on the right.

The Pou Tahu from the base is Toi
then Kupe with Maui at the Top.
The Poutuarongo has Hineahuone at the base then Mahuika with Hineraukatauri at the top.
Mihi whakawhitiwhiti will follow tu atu tu mai after the Paimarire is complete.
Parakuihi is set for 8.30 so as to give enough time for the mid morning powhiri

The Taumata is availble for of all those involved in the Tuwhera. We would appreciate one kaikorero from each waka. Due to the numbers and Hakari we have estimated 10am -12.30pm for this.
